According to their own statements, MainBaumWächter from Frankfurt on the Main is the only company in the world that offers tree troughs made of recycled plastic. Plus, since its foundation in 2021, the company has always produced in Germany. Senayt Kesete is the creative mind and producer behind MainBaumWächter. She highlights these two aspects in every customer pitch, because for her, this is sustainability in action.

“When talking to representatives of municipalities or to business owners, I try to describe the qualitative difference compared to imported bags by focussing on the word tree troughs”, Senayt Kesete points out. “I prefer this term over the term tree watering bags.” The 48-year-old wants to provide customers with an ecological, efficient, and cost-saving irrigation system for existing trees and new plantings.

“We have established cooperations and together with an irrigation service, we can now offer the tree troughs as an all-in-one solution for municipalities. They can even get subsidies for their expenses. And for companies, the tree troughs count towards optimising their carbon footprint. Together with the possibility of printing statements and ads on the tree troughs, this opens up new opportunities to promote both ecology and economy.”

A special feature of these tree troughs by MainBaumWächter is that they are an ideal source of information when equipped with a QR code and they are the perfect green advertising medium when printed with a city coat of arms, company logo, or slogan. Potential customers should not shy away from contacting the company with their special requests – the employees are very open-minded when it comes to new ideas.

About her life, Senayt Kesete says: “I was a true newcomer in the gardening and landscaping industry. My career path was very diverse, and I have gained lots of different experiences. I originally come from Eritrea and came to Germany as a 5-year-old refugee. After my vocational training as a social assistant and as a wholesale and foreign trade clerk, I worked at a car dealer and in a bookshop before becoming self-employed and joining the gardening and landscaping industry.”

MainBaumWächter is one of the exhibitors at the joint stand Young Innovators. This area is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action and can be found in Hall 3C. NürnbergMesse offers companies in the International StartUp Area special conditions for participating in GaLaBau, the leading International Trade Fair for Urban Green and Open Spaces (www.galabau-messe.com/en). The fair takes places from 11 – 14 September 2024.
