Sustainability icon of NürnbergMesse: Orange leaf with slogan Sustainability is our compass
As a driving force for the green sector, GaLaBau is particularly dedicated to the challenges of climate change. The gardening and landscaping sector is showing great commitment in this area and is making an active contribution to the necessary climate adaptations in many areas. The demand for so-called green-blue products and solutions will continue to increase in the coming years. GaLaBau reflects this development not only in its range of products and services covering the entire value chain, but also in its extensive supporting programme.
Our events are global platforms for sustainable innovation.

Topics

The GREEN-BLUE PATH goes into another round at GaLaBau 2024. Exhibitors apply with their solutions and services on the subject of climate adaptation and receive approval from an expert jury according to transparent criteria. The pioneers will be specially labelled both on site and in various marketing documents. Visitors can also look forward to guided tours for the first time. The large exhibition area of the Federal Association of Horticulture and Landscaping (BGL) is dedicated to the motto ‘Future of green living spaces’ and the focus on ‘Water’ landscaping services for adapting to climate change.

Exhibitors

At GaLaBau, all key players in the construction and maintenance machinery and equipment – plants, components and materials – urban design and equipment for sports grounds and playgrounds will be represented. Exhibitors and trade visitors can expand their networks and knowledge, enter into dialogue with each other and develop solutions together.

Supporting programme

With a view to the focal theme of ‘Together climate fit for the future’, the Landscape Talks, the expert forum at the BGL stand, the series of lectures organised by the bdla and the e-mobility area within the action areas in the outdoor area of the trade fair should be emphasised.

Sustainable Event Management

We continuously improve the footprint of our services. To achieve this, we invest in our facilities and collaborate with service partners who share our values regarding the environment and society. Together, we create offerings and design our events to be a responsible experience – from resource-saving stand construction solutions to catering with local food, reusable dishes, and recycling systems. With our charging stations for electric cars, discounted train tickets, and free public transport use, we support sustainable travel.

Sustainabbility goal of NürnbergMesse: CO2 neutral energy supply until 2028

Sustainability at NürnbergMesse

As one of the largest trade fair companies in the world, NürnbergMesse has aligned its actions with social and ecological justice, based on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. With a photovoltaic system and the procurement of 100% green electricity, the transition to LED lighting in all our halls and other measures, we are working towards our major goal: CO2-neutral energy supply for our exhibition centre by 2028. We have documented our successes in an annual sustainability report since 2021.
