Weed Control and Steam Cleaning for Professionals

The company Haussmann is located in Wörth an der Isar, northeast of Munich. They provide practical equipment elements and tools for house, yard, and garden. Apart from devices for power supply and post boxes, they offer devices for weed control that are especially interesting for landscape gardeners.

Alexander Cestar is 40 years old and grew up in Freising close to Munich. He has completed a technical apprenticeship as a mechanic and is also a state-certified technician specialising in mechanical engineering. After working in a manufacturing company for several years, he switched to the retail sector and is now CEO of Haussmann.

“We provide hobby craftspeople as well as experts with the devices and tools they need for their outdoor work,” Alexander Cestar describes the Haussmann portfolio. “From lawn trimmers to vibrating plates,” he adds. “A distinctive feature of our product range is the weeding equipment we have developed and manufactured ourselves.”

The company currently offers two products for weed control. They are called “Unkrautfuchs” and “Profifuchs”. “The Unkrautfuchs is designed for private use,” Alexander Cestar explains. “The Profifuchs is directed towards commercial users like gardening and landscaping experts.” But how exactly does the weeding work?

“We use hot water that reaches higher temperatures than the conventional 65 to 70 degrees Celsius,” Alexander Cestar says. “Our Profifuchs heats the water to more than 95 degrees Celsius. When such hot water is applied to the weed with the optionally available nozzles, it destroys the cell structures of the plants, the plants can no longer absorb nutrients, and ultimately, they die.”

The technology behind the weeding devices from Haussmann is patented and guarantees consistently high temperatures, even during continuous operation. Thanks to the available nozzles, the devices are suited for any use case – they can be used for very small spots or corners, for huge areas like car parks, and for different tasks when it comes to cleaning. The products are produced in China. “In our own factory,” as Alexander Cestar emphasises. “The factory is DIN-certified and maintains the highest quality standards. This is ultimately felt by the users of our devices, for whom reliability and durability are important."

Haussmann is one of the exhibitors at the joint stand Young Innovators. This area is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action and can be found in Hall 3C.
