Ilka Kallin, Head of Marketing in Zeppelin Baumaschinen GmbH Interview with Ilka Kallin from Zeppelin Baumaschinen GmbH

Numerous factors play an important role in the successful development of the GaLaBau trade fair. First and foremost, the entirety of the participating exhibitors and their commitment to the leading international trade fair for urban greenery and open spaces.

Today we look at Zeppelin Baumaschinen GmbH and talk to Ilka Kallin about one of the few companies that has accompanied GaLaBau for over two decades and has witnessed many stages of its development. Ms Kallin herself has been Head of Marketing since 2018 and has already got to know the company as a German sales and service partner of Caterpillar Inc. With its focus on sales, service, consulting and financing for construction machinery, the Zeppelin Group company has established a pole position in the industry over the years.

We were curious to find out how the trade fair has developed from the perspective of Zeppelin Baumaschinen GmbH, as a well-known companion of GaLaBau, and why the company continues to choose to be part of the trade fair.

With her answers, Ms Kallin not only confirms the event team in their design and implementation of a successful industry meeting, but also manages to convince potential new exhibitors to participate.

How many years have you been an exhibitor at GaLaBau?

Ilka Kallin: I can't really answer that exactly. However, we found documents in our archives from our participation in GaLaBau in 2002. So from then on we were certainly and always represented. The gardening and landscaping segment is extremely important to Zeppelin and has grown significantly over the years.

What was and is the decisive reason for you to be an exhibitor at GaLaBau?

Ilka Kallin: GaLaBau is THE industry meeting place for companies from the gardening and landscaping sector, which is a very important target group for us. Here we can show existing and potential customers a representative overview of our wide range of products - from the right machines to the right attachments and state-of-the-art assistance systems to our powerful service – for the landscaping industry.

What do you particularly appreciate about GaLaBau?

Ilka Kallin: Concentrating on one target group allows us as exhibitors to focus on just this target group and this sector at the trade fair. This means we are very close to our customers and can use the trade fair as an important place to exchange ideas and network in order to maintain existing contacts and establish new business relationships.

How has GaLaBau developed for you as an exhibitor in recent years?

Ilka Kallin: On the one hand, the trade fair emphasises the growth of the green sector in recent years. On the other hand, the trade fair also emphasises the importance of the green sector, which is taking on increasingly important tasks in terms of sustainability because we need to be more resilient in the face of climate change. Gardening and landscaping companies are making a significant contribution here.

How would you describe GaLaBau to potential new exhibitors?

Ilka Kallin: I would describe the trade fair as THE industry meeting place for gardening and landscaping, where all customers, interested parties and decision-makers come together and find out about the latest trends and developments at first hand in one place.

What are your hopes for the future of GaLaBau?

Ilka Kallin: That the industry and the trade fair continue to grow. We want to build on this in the future and are constantly expanding the range of our products. Logically, this will also be reflected in our trade fair appearances and so we want to use the platform of the trade fair to present ourselves adequately to our customers and interested parties.

We would like to thank all exhibitors who have made GaLaBau what it is today with their products, technologies, and innovations, and we look forward to welcoming both existing and new exhibitors in the future and to shaping GaLaBau together
