About us

GEEL ABOUT USAbout roots, idea generators andthe really big stepsWhen Gerhard Ellmauer started selling the first quick coupler system as a one-man business in mid2001, the really big steps that would make GEEL the specialist in quick coupler systems and attachments it is today were still to come. It has been an exciting journey, characterised by close partnerships, a strong will to succeed and a love for the product. The will to do betterAfter the existing attachments on the market failed to satisfythe entrepreneur, Gerhard Ellmauer quickly set up his owncompany to do things betterfor the product. The question soon arose: How do you develop the best products for very complex customer needs?By listening carefully.Product development at GEEL still often starts in direct dialogue with the customer. Together we find the best solutions. This interaction between user and designer also led to GEEL‘sfirst product: a hydraulic quick-change system. Today, quickrelease couplings are still an important core product of GEEL,now in many different versions, in combination with rotarymotors, tilt rotators and much more.Such is the level of customer service that customers later approached the team with requests for buckets, grabs and other complementary products. As a result, the product range has grown and now offers a comprehensive range for construction and forestry applications. The best design for every customerDurability, the best durable materials and customised designsare the keys to the success of GEEL products. GEEL now seesitself as a supplier of equipment for the whole machine, butthese values do not mean that the extensive portfolio. Fromquick couplers and torque motors to excavator buckets andattachments, customers can rely on consistent high quality. If a suitable device or design does not yet exist, one will bedeveloped. Our customers, many of whom have been with usfor many years, appreciate this service and reliability.Geel‘s aim is to supply the customer with a durable productwithout major wear and tear - for the life of the excavator. In terms of durability and reliability, Geel‘s excavator bucketshave even exceeded our own expectations. Customers fromthe very beginning have put their trust in Geel products, asthey have shown only minor signs of wear after hard use andare often still in use after many years.Flexibility in the realisationGEEL‘s high degree of customisation and quality is guaranteedby its own production facilities in Austria and Slovakia. This enables GEEL to respond to enquiries in a thoroughly agile manner. At the company headquarters in Oberhofen am Irrsee, UpperAustria, the individual parts supplied by neighbouring contractmanufacturers are welded together to form high-quality quickchange systems. At the customer‘s request, the quick couplers can also be supplied in conjunction with rotary motors or tiltrotators.Numerous special solutions for the quick coupler round off theGeel product range.Since 2010, the company has also been producing at its own plant in Nitra,Slovakia. Around 25 employees work there on the company‘s large steelstructures such as excavator buckets, universal grabs and wheel loaderbuckets. The establishment of the second production site was anotherimportant building block in order to be able to act as flexibly as possible. The distribution of Geel products in Europe is handled by the Austriansales team.Ideas for the attachments of tomorrowDespite its good reputation, no one at GEEL is sitting back.An expansion of the product range is planned for the comingyears in order to meet future market requirements.
