Product information

Against the backdrop of these topics, ZinCo presented its high-performance green roof systems at GaLaBau.

The focus in relation to WATER was on maximised stormwater retention, extended availability of water for the plants, the use of grey water and the best possible evaporation performance. The innovative system build-up, Sponge City Roof, made its mark here while complementing the well-known ZinCo Stormwater Management Roof and Urban Climate Roof.

Totally without a competition for land, it was then only a short step to the topic ENERGY, as the tried and tested union of green roof and solar power is easily combined with stormwater retention. Suitable variants for individual buildings and networked solutions for districts – cue cascade-style irrigation – were available both for new and existing buildings. ZinCo also illustrated how an existing green roof can be retrofitted with a solar power system and how adding biodiverse elements will ensure a greater variety of species.

It is possible these days to build in such a creative and versatile manner to bring NATURE onto a roof. The potential here is enormous and must be exploited in an inspirational matter that will allow us to meet the ever-present challenges of climate change.

With that, ZinCo was part of the GREEN–BLUE PATH at this very successful GaLaBau 2024.
