The blue-silver heather perennial-mix with 24 species combines blue and white flower colours of drought-tolerant perennials and grasses with green-silver leaf colours and various structures. Yucca filamentosa, also known as garden yucca, is a well-known representative in our gardens. Its imposing appearance with its pointed, spreading leaves and man-sized white flowers makes it a popular element in garden design. The blue ray oat Helictotrichon sempervirens also impresses with its steel-blue, narrow leaves. The panicles of flowers extend over the somewhat rigid-looking leaves and sway elegantly in the wind. Another component of the perennial mix is the aromatically fragrant perovskia. Its filigree green-silver leaves radiate a certain elegance and are also ideal as solitary perennials. Here too, the white-silvery coating on the stems and leaves indicates that perovskia is suitable for beds with a steppe character.
Site and soil requirements
This mixed perennial planting has been developed for dry open spaces in full sun. The ideal soil is loose, rather light and well-drained.
