With the future of the industry in mind, preparations are already underway for GaLaBau 2026, the leading international fair for urban green and open spaces, in Nuremberg. The trade fair, which offers innovative solutions for the challenges of the times, will take place with a new Tuesday to Friday schedule from 15 to 18 September 2026. Prospective exhibitors can now reserve their stands for GaLaBau 2026. It’s worth acting quickly because there’s an early bird discount until 31 May 2025.

Successful anniversary round in 2024 leaves community eager for more

“In the light of the key findings from our exhibitor and visitor surveys in 2024, we can be justifiably proud of the ongoing evolution of this important industry gathering,” says Stefan Dittrich, Director GaLaBau at NürnbergMesse. “No less than 95 percent of exhibitors were satisfied with their trade fair appearance. An equally high number of exhibitors praised the professional calibre of visitors. And a whopping 98 percent made new business connections and reached their most important target groups,” Dittrich continues. GaLaBau welcomed a total of 1,103 exhibitors, 30 percent of whom came from outside Germany. This is equivalent to a six percent increase in international exhibitors compared with the 2022 event. In addition, GaLaBau attracted 66,576 trade visitors, up 8.4 percent from the previous event and including 10 percent from abroad.

Further results from the visitor and exhibitor surveys are provided in the Show Report for GaLaBau 2024, which is available on request: www.galabau-messe.com/en/exhibit##analysis

An industry with a future

The GaLaBau 2026 trade fair will provide valuable impetus for the future of the sector. This is also the firmly held belief of Thomas Banzhaf, President of the BGL (German Association for Gardening, Landscaping and Sports Ground Construction): “The modification of towns and communities to adapt to climate change is one of the greatest challenges for the economy and society. The landscaping and gardening sector plays a vital role in this process through the professional planting and maintenance of more urban green to create a “natural air conditioner” and realise the “sponge city” concept. The transformation has long been underway, offering business opportunities for the gardening and landscaping segment that give our industry much cause for optimism. It is hardly surprising then that more than 90 percent of the gardening and landscaping businesses that took part in our autumn survey described the current business climate as “very good” or “satisfactory”. This is a strong signal – for GaLaBau 2026 as well!”

Preview of 2026 highlights

In 2026, GaLaBau will once again present the entire range of solutions for the design, construction and maintenance of urban, green and open spaces as well as sports grounds, golf courses and playgrounds. “It is the successful combination of trade fair and extensive supporting programme that will again attract visitors from gardening and landscaping firms, representatives of municipal authorities, landscape architects, and motorised equipment and power tool dealers from all over Europe,” says Stefan Dittrich.

The bundling of special shows and events on the topic of “Innovation” into one area is set to continue. These include the PRACTICAL GUIDE TO DIGITISATION Forum, the Young Innovators Pavilion and International Startup Area, and the Awards Ceremony for the Winners of the Innovation Medal.

Interested start-ups and young companies can register for the Young Innovators Pavilion from spring 2025. Regular stands can be booked now. The early bird discount is valid until 31 May 2025. For information about registering please go to: www.galabau-messe.com/en/exhibit/book-your-stand

Visitors can also look forward to familiar features like the inspiring BGL zone on the theme “Future of Green Living Spaces” or the Landscape Gardener Cup, as well as the GREEN-BLUE PATH with guided tours. Visitors and exhibitors can also experience machinery live in action in the outdoor demonstration areas for earthworks, ground care, and electric mobility.
