Frederick Skupin: ‘What will the trade fair presence of the future look like?’
What important trends will affect the trade fair presence of the future? What changes are we already seeing today? And how will the trade fair format change over the next 10 years? To mark the 25th anniversary of the GaLaBau trade fair, we asked the man who has helped shape the concept and construction of the BGL trade fair stand since 2008: Frederick Skupin.
Frederick Skupin has trade fair construction in his genes: His father set up his own business from his living room at home in the early 1980s - and soon recruited his son as a partner. However, he was initially more interested in building construction than trade fair construction. Today, he runs his parents' company. Based in Kaarst in North Rhine-Westphalia, ‘Skupin Design’ develops pioneering trade fair concept construction with 10 permanent employees: from the idea, through the development and realisation of the complete trade fair concept, to the construction and dismantling at the trade fair. The core team is supported by additional (wo-)manpower from the established network of trade fair specialists with whom Skupin has been working together on a basis of trust for many years.
