25th anniversary edition of GaLaBau on course for success, as GREEN-BLUE PATH enters its second round

At the 25th anniversary round, topics relating to the challenges of climate adaptation will again play a special role.

Visitors at GaLaBau

GaLaBau, the leading international fair for urban green and open spaces, is shaping up nicely. Despite the challenging economic climate, 97% of the display area from 2022 has already been booked nine months ahead of the event. At the 25th anniversary round, topics relating to the challenges of climate adaptation will again play a special role. Exhibitors whose products and solutions are positively associated with climate adaptation are eligible to be specially designated and promoted as participants in the GREEN-BLUE PATH. Interested exhibitors can submit their applications for inclusion now.

The close of registrations for GaLaBau 2024 was shortly before Christmas. Demand for stands at the trade fair in September has been high. “We are very pleased by the continued interest in the event and the fact that already bookings have almost reached the level of the total display area at the last GaLaBau in 2022,” says Stefan Dittrich, Director GaLaBau at NürnbergMesse. “Given the current challenges in the construction industry, we are immensely proud of the positive developments for this 25th anniversary round of GaLaBau. For many loyal customers, GaLaBau is a regular fixture, but numerous newcomers have also decided to take part in the trade fair. At present, it is more important than ever to actively discuss the challenges of climate change,” Dittrich continues.

In this context, the landscaping and gardening sector is showing a considerable commitment to developing solutions and is actively contributing to climate adaptation in many areas of horticulture and landscaping. These endeavours will be acknowledged yet again at GaLaBau 2024 by specifically supporting and drawing attention to exhibitors whose products and solutions are positively associated with climate adaptation. This is achieved through the framework of the GREEN-BLUE PATH. “As a leading international fair, GaLaBau 2024 puts the spotlight on novel solutions and trends for dealing with the climate crisis – including with the GREEN-BLUE PATH format. This reinforces that our landscaping and gardening sector is of systemic importance for tackling these major tasks,” says BGL President Thomas Banzhaf.

Expert jury ensures the quality of the GREEN-BLUE PATH

All applications to be included in the GREEN-BLUE PATH are reviewed and authorised by a panel of experts consisting of Mario Kahl, Association of German Landscape Gardeners (bdla), Knut Weidenhammer, Public Space Service (SÖR)/City of Nuremberg, Tjards Wendebourg, Eugen Ulmer publishing house, Dr Michael Henze, German Association for Gardening, Landscaping and Sports Ground Construction (BGL), and Stefan Dittrich. In its evaluation, the jury focuses on aspects such as environmentally compatible manufacture, mode of operation, application and longevity of the respective product or service. The main criterion is that the product or service contributes to a green-blue solution. “Whether you are a landscape architect, gardening and landscaping business, or machine manufacturer – it is up to all of us to respond accordingly to the consequences of climate change. As a member of the jury for the GREEN-BLUE PATH, I am pleased to be getting to know such inspiring companies, products and solutions and helping to ensure that they receive their well-earning recognition at GaLaBau 2024,” says jury member Mario Kahl.

Apply now to become part of the GREEN-BLUE PATH

All participants in the GREEN-BLUE PATH benefit from various marketing measures including guided tours, where visitors are taken specifically to their exhibition stands, but also beach flags at their stands and special GREEN-BLUE PATH labelling in the floor plans, exhibition guide, and exhibitor and product database. This labelling ensures that visitors and other stakeholders can specifically seek out participants in the GREEN-BLUE PATH and plan their visit accordingly. Are you one of the pioneers of the gardening and landscaping sector with products and solutions in keeping with the theme “Working together for a climate-friendly future”? The deadline for applications for the second jury session is 15 March 2024. Afterwards, there will be just one more meeting of the jury, and the closing date to apply for this selection round is 30 May 2024.
